THE 5 PILLARS OF CHARACTER
At our studio, we train our kids to develop and strengthen what we call
THE 5 PILLARS OF CHARACTER aka THE 5 BASIC SELFs
What are these SELFs?
Quite simply, it is what makes our program different from all others. This is why parents look at our program as an investment rather than an activity!
Many of the kids that enroll in our program are very shy. Sometimes this shyness is a result of low self-esteem, or personal value.
Our specialized training sessions allow our instructors to work with the students in a more personalized fashion. This allows each student to realize that they matter greatly to us, and what they do is important!
Along with personal value, kids should learn at an early age that they can achieve most anything that they put their mind and heart to.
Receiving each of our belts provides kids with achievable goals as they progress through the program. We support their hard work through mentoring and positive reinforcement.
You’ll be amazed at how proud children feel as they achieve each belt and how motivated they are to press on to the next!
Can you imagine your child motivated to do her homework, brush his teeth, or make her bed… without being told! That’s where our self-discipline training comes in!
Kids here learn early that ACHIEVEMENT takes PRACTICE. We enable our kids to develop self-discipline through the practice and the reward each belt brings. Our kids learn early on that anything worth getting is worth working for!
If self-discipline is doing what you “don’t” want to do, then self control is about not doing what you might “rather” be doing!
Kids have so much energy it just has to be channeled properly. Kids learn here that getting higher belts is a privilege worth more than any video game level or TV episode, but it is also a responsibility.
At our studio, everyone is expected to channel their energy in constructive ways. In doing so, we’ve seen how children blossom when they see FIRST-HAND how hard work pays off.
We believe it is so important that each and every child has a BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF SELF-DEFENSE. Now, for us, this does not mean fighting.
Instead, this means knowing what personal boundaries should not be breached, and if they are, how to respond appropriately.
Bullying is an issue in America.
Here, we believe we can help combat that by giving kids the skills they need to channel their energy, have the self confidence to speak up and have the strength of BODY and CHARACTER to do the right thing.
Hopefully we were able to provide you a good snapshot of our studio, but we find the best way of knowing about our program is to try it!
